to give the platform some weight I filled it with some "random" metal parts and a pool of glue.
I wanted the figure to be able to stand easily on the platform so I roughly cut some metal and placed it inside the platform for the feet magnets to then hold onto.
sealing it shut forever
testing the heel
my kids where willing to sacrifice some toy parts to extract the magnets
magnets and feet inplace!
joint testing
Alot of hours later it was time for assembly.
Im was very pleased that I got articulation even in the fingers
Printed the rocket launcher also from the game to be able to switch with the arm
feet magnet, heavy platform, interchangeable arm, full articulation. it all worked out very nice
An old google home box served well as package
all done
Diabotical eggbot - Personal project , 3D-print
My wife got me a 3D printer for christmas, and as a first project I made a toy-figurine of the character from our game Diabotical https://www.diabotical.com/ and made it into a nice present for my boss and friend.
It was pure joy making this and open the door to the fantastic world being able to 3D-print.
I really wanted to make the figurine fully articulated so there where alot of test prints to see what worked and not, and to figure out tolerances.
